- The Corbière Lighthouse, completed in 1874, was the first lighthouse in the British Isles to be built of concrete — a revolutionary material at the time. The lighthouse stands on a rocky islet connected to the headland by a causeway that is submerged at high tide, and a warning bell sounds when the tide is rising to prevent walkers from being cut off. The headland was the site of a German observation tower during the Occupation of Jersey in the Second World War, and the remains of German fortifications can still be seen in the area.
