- Queensbury sits at over 1,000 feet above sea level on the Pennine ridge, making it one of the highest villages in West Yorkshire. On a clear day the view from the village encompasses Bradford, Halifax, Keighley, and the full sweep of the Aire and Calder valleys.
- The village was the site of one of the most ambitious Victorian railway engineering projects in England — the Great Northern Railway's Queensbury Triangle, a complex of tunnels and viaducts that connected Bradford, Halifax, and Keighley through the Pennine hills. The tunnels, some of the longest in West Yorkshire, were abandoned in the 1950s.
