About Reston
- Reston Halt reopened in 2015 on the Borders Railway corridor — one of the few rural stations brought back to life on the old Berwickshire line.
- The village sits where the A1 leaves the coast — Reston is the turning point for Eyemouth, St Abbs and Coldingham, and Joe Maxi Taxis covers all three in ten minutes.
- Fast Castle, the ruined clifftop fortress on the way to St Abbs, is said to be the inspiration for Wolf's Crag in Walter Scott's The Bride of Lammermoor.
