About Normanby
- Normanby is one of the more prosperous residential communities in the Teesside area, with a mix of inter-war semi-detached houses and post-war development. The suburb is characterised by its quiet residential streets and proximity to the green spaces of the Cleveland Hills.
- The Cleveland Hills above Normanby are part of the North York Moors National Park and offer outstanding walking country. The proximity of the national park to the urban area of Teesside means that residents of Normanby can be walking on open moorland within 15 minutes of leaving their front door.
- Normanby Hall, a Victorian mansion on the edge of the suburb, is now used as a school. The hall is a reminder of the rural character of the area before the industrial expansion of Teesside, when the land around Normanby was farmed by the families of the local gentry.
