The Seven Sisters, the series of chalk cliffs that extend westward from Beachy Head, are one of the most iconic landscapes in England and have been used as a filming location for numerous productions including the opening sequence of the 1944 film This Happy Breed.
- Eastbourne's reputation as a genteel seaside resort — sometimes caricatured as a retirement destination — conceals a more complex history as a planned Victorian town built from scratch on the Sussex coast.
