"Joe Maxi" is a trading name and platform name only. It is not a legal entity, a company, a partnership, or a person. The Joe Maxi platform is owned and operated exclusively by **Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies**, a sole trader registered in Scotland.

Throughout these Terms of Service, references to "Joe Maxi", "we", "us", or "our" refer solely and exclusively to **Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies**. The name "Joe Maxi" is used for convenience only and confers no separate legal identity, rights, or obligations on the platform name itself.

The Joe Maxi platform is an **online booking platform only**. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies is not a taxi company, a private hire operator, a transport provider, or an employer of drivers. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies does not own, operate, or control any vehicles and does not provide or arrange the provision of transportation services.

The Joe Maxi platform provides a digital intermediary service that enables passengers to submit taxi booking requests and enables independent, licensed taxi operators and private hire operators to receive and accept those requests.

The contract for the provision of any taxi or private hire journey is formed exclusively between the passenger and the driver or taxi operator who accepts the booking. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies is not a party to that contract and accepts no responsibility or liability in connection with it whatsoever.

Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies acts solely as the operator of an intermediary technology platform. Nothing in these Terms shall be construed as creating any agency, partnership, joint venture, employment, or franchise relationship between Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies and any driver, operator, or passenger.

By accessing or using the Joe Maxi platform — whether as a passenger, a registered driver, or a visitor — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service in full. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies.

If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the platform.

Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. The current version will always be published at joemaxi.co.uk/terms. Continued use of the platform following any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically.

4.1 Use at own risk: By using the Joe Maxi platform to request a taxi or private hire journey, you acknowledge and agree that you do so entirely at your own risk. The Joe Maxi platform is an online booking service only. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies has no involvement in, control over, or responsibility for the provision of any journey. All risk associated with any journey — including but not limited to personal safety, property, punctuality, and conduct of the driver — is borne solely by the passenger.

4.2 No responsibility for drivers or operators: Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees of any kind regarding the suitability, competence, conduct, licensing, insurance, or reliability of any driver or taxi operator accessible through the platform. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies does not vet, endorse, or supervise drivers beyond requiring evidence of a valid licence at the point of registration. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies accepts absolutely no responsibility for any act, omission, negligence, misconduct, or unlawful act of any driver or taxi operator.

4.3 Booking contract: When you submit a booking request through the Joe Maxi platform and a driver accepts it, a contract is formed directly between you and that driver or their operating company. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies is not a party to that contract and has no obligations or liabilities under it whatsoever. Any dispute, complaint, or claim arising from a journey must be directed to the driver or operator — not to Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies.

4.4 No guarantee of availability: Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies does not guarantee that any booking request will be accepted or that a driver will be available at any given time or location. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies accepts no liability for any loss, inconvenience, or expense arising from a booking not being accepted or a driver failing to arrive.

4.5 Payment: All fares are agreed and paid directly between the passenger and the driver. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies does not collect, process, hold, or take any commission on passenger fares. Any dispute regarding fares, charges, or refunds is a matter solely between the passenger and the driver.

4.6 Cancellations: Cancellation policies are set by individual drivers. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies accepts no liability for any cancellation charges, losses, or inconvenience arising from a cancellation by either party.

4.7 Accuracy of information: You are solely responsible for providing accurate pickup address, destination, date, time, and passenger information. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies accepts no liability for failed, delayed, or incorrect journeys resulting from inaccurate information provided by the passenger.

4.8 Conduct: Passengers must behave lawfully and with respect towards drivers at all times. Abusive, threatening, violent, or discriminatory behaviour will result in immediate account suspension and may be reported to the police.

4.9 Age: You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account and make bookings on the platform.

5.1 Independent status: Drivers and operators using the Joe Maxi platform are entirely independent, self-employed individuals or businesses. They are not employees, workers, agents, or contractors of Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies. Drivers are solely responsible for all aspects of their business, including but not limited to licensing, insurance, taxation, vehicle maintenance, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

5.2 Licensing and compliance: Drivers must hold a valid, current UK taxi or private hire driver's licence and vehicle licence issued by the relevant local licensing authority for the area in which they operate. Drivers must maintain valid public liability insurance and hire and reward insurance at all times. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies reserves the right to require evidence of valid licences and insurance at any time and to suspend or remove any driver who cannot provide such evidence.

5.3 Responsibility for journeys: The driver or operator is solely responsible for the safe, lawful, and professional provision of every journey. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies accepts no responsibility for the conduct of any journey, the safety of passengers, or any loss, injury, or damage arising during or in connection with a journey.

5.4 Subscription fee and payment: Access to the Joe Maxi platform for drivers is subject to payment of a monthly subscription fee of £49.95 per month. The first calendar month is provided free of charge as a trial period. Subscription fees are collected in advance via Stripe. By registering as a driver, you authorise Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies to collect the monthly subscription fee via the payment method you provide during onboarding.

5.5 Failed and declined payments: If a subscription payment is declined, fails, or is reversed for any reason, Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies reserves the right to immediately suspend the driver's access to the platform without prior notice. Suspended drivers will not be able to receive or accept new bookings. Access will be reinstated only upon successful payment of all outstanding amounts. Repeated payment failures may result in permanent termination of the driver account.

5.6 Non-refundable fees: Subscription fees are non-refundable in whole or in part, except where expressly required by applicable law. Partial months are not refunded upon cancellation or termination.

5.7 Subscription cancellation: Drivers wishing to cancel their subscription must notify Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies in writing at [email protected] with a minimum of 30 days' notice prior to the next billing date. Cancellation of the subscription constitutes termination of the driver's access to the platform. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies reserves the right to cancel any driver subscription at any time in accordance with clause 10 of these Terms.

5.8 Fares: Drivers set their own fares. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies does not take any commission on fares charged to passengers. All fare income is received directly by the driver.

5.9 Conduct: Drivers must treat all passengers with professionalism, courtesy, and respect. Abusive, threatening, violent, or discriminatory behaviour towards passengers or platform staff will result in immediate and permanent account termination.

5.10 Platform integrity: Drivers must not solicit passengers to make bookings outside the Joe Maxi platform in order to avoid subscription obligations. Breach of this clause may result in immediate termination and recovery of losses sustained by Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies.

6.1 Platform operator only: The Joe Maxi platform is operated by Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies solely as a technology intermediary to facilitate introductions between passengers and independent taxi operators. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies does not provide transportation services and is not responsible for any act, omission, conduct, or default of any driver, operator, or passenger.

6.2 No liability for journeys: Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies expressly excludes all liability for:

•The quality, safety, timeliness, or fitness for purpose of any taxi or private hire journey booked through the platform

•Personal injury, death, loss, or damage arising from or in connection with any journey

•The conduct, negligence, or unlawful acts of any driver or passenger

•Any failure by a driver to hold valid licences or insurance

•Any failure by a driver to complete an accepted booking

•Loss of earnings, loss of opportunity, or consequential loss of any kind

•Any dispute between a passenger and a driver or taxi operator

6.3 Technical service: Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous availability of the platform. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies accepts no liability for losses arising from technical failures, outages, data loss, or interruptions to the service.

6.4 Cap on liability: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the total aggregate liability of Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies to any user in connection with the platform — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise — shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by that user in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

6.5 Consumer rights: Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 where applicable.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

•Your use of the Joe Maxi platform

•Your breach of these Terms of Service

•Your breach of any applicable law or regulation

•Any claim by a third party arising from a journey you were involved in as a driver or passenger

•Any dispute between you and any driver, taxi operator, or other platform user

You acknowledge that Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies is not liable for any such claims and that you will not seek to hold Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies responsible for any matter arising between passengers and drivers or taxi operators.

The following conduct is strictly prohibited on the Joe Maxi platform:

•Creating fake, duplicate, or fraudulent accounts

•Impersonating any person or entity

•Submitting false, misleading, or defamatory reviews or information

•Using the platform for any unlawful purpose

•Circumventing the platform to avoid subscription obligations

•Sharing account credentials with any third party

•Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its systems

•Any form of harassment, abuse, discrimination, or threatening behaviour

•Uploading or transmitting any malicious code, spam, or harmful content

9.1 Ownership: All intellectual property rights in and relating to the Joe Maxi platform are owned exclusively by Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies. This includes, without limitation:

•The name "Joe Maxi" and any associated trading names, abbreviations, or variations

•The Joe Maxi logo, branding, colour schemes, typography, and visual identity

•The platform design, user interface, layout, graphics, and look and feel

•All software, source code, algorithms, databases, and technical architecture underlying the platform

•All written content, marketing copy, page text, FAQs, and editorial content published on the platform

•All data compilations, location data, service area data, and structured data sets created by or for the platform

•All domain names including joemaxi.co.uk and any associated domains

•Any future developments, updates, enhancements, or derivative works of any of the above

9.2 Trade marks: The name "Joe Maxi" and the Joe Maxi logo are the trade marks of Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies. You must not use, register, or attempt to register any trade mark, business name, domain name, social media handle, or company name that is identical or confusingly similar to "Joe Maxi" or any other mark owned by Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies, in any jurisdiction, without prior written consent.

9.3 Copyright: All content on the Joe Maxi platform is protected by copyright law. Unauthorised reproduction, copying, distribution, transmission, display, publication, or creation of derivative works from any part of the platform — in whole or in part — is strictly prohibited and may constitute a criminal offence under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

9.4 Database rights: The platform's databases, including but not limited to driver listings, location data, booking records, and content compilations, are protected as databases under the Copyright and Rights in Databases Regulations 1997. You must not extract, re-utilise, scrape, or systematically copy any substantial part of any database on the platform.

9.5 Software: The software powering the Joe Maxi platform is proprietary. You must not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, copy, adapt, or attempt to derive the source code of any part of the platform. Any attempt to do so may constitute a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.

9.6 No licence beyond permitted use: Your use of the platform does not grant you any ownership of or rights in any intellectual property. You are granted only a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the platform for its intended purpose as a passenger or driver. This licence terminates immediately upon closure or termination of your account.

9.7 User content: Where you submit any content to the platform — including reviews, feedback, profile information, or other material — you grant Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with the operation and promotion of the platform. You confirm that any content you submit is your own and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.

9.8 Infringement and enforcement: Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies will actively protect its intellectual property rights and will take legal action — including seeking injunctive relief, damages, and an account of profits — against any person or entity that infringes, copies, misappropriates, or unlawfully uses any intellectual property owned by or associated with the Joe Maxi platform. This includes but is not limited to:

•Copying or imitating the platform design, layout, or user interface

•Using the name "Joe Maxi" or any confusingly similar name for a competing or related service

•Scraping, harvesting, or reproducing platform content or data

•Creating unauthorised copies or clones of the platform

•Registering domain names, social media accounts, or company names that incorporate "Joe Maxi" or any confusingly similar name

9.9 Reporting infringement: If you become aware of any infringement of the intellectual property rights of Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies, please report it immediately to [email protected].

Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate any driver or passenger account at any time, with or without prior notice, at our sole discretion. Grounds for suspension or termination include but are not limited to:

•Breach of any provision of these Terms of Service

•Non-payment, failed payment, or reversal of any subscription fee

•Expiry, revocation, suspension, or invalidity of a driver's taxi or private hire licence

•Expiry or invalidity of a driver's hire and reward insurance or vehicle licence

•Conduct that poses a risk to the safety, wellbeing, or experience of passengers or other platform users

•Conduct that brings or is likely to bring the Joe Maxi platform or Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies into disrepute

•Fraudulent, deceptive, or unlawful activity

•Repeated passenger complaints or negative reports regarding a driver's conduct or service

•Any act or omission that, in the reasonable opinion of Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies, is detrimental to the platform, its users, or its reputation

•Any regulatory, legal, or compliance reason that makes it inappropriate for a driver to continue operating on the platform

Effect of termination: Upon termination of a driver account, the driver's access to the platform will be immediately revoked. No refund of subscription fees already paid will be made. Any outstanding subscription fees at the point of termination remain due and payable to Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies.

Passenger account termination: Passenger accounts may be suspended or terminated for breach of these terms, abusive conduct towards drivers, fraudulent activity, or any other reason that Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies considers appropriate to protect the safety and integrity of the platform.

No liability for termination: Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies accepts no liability to any driver or passenger for loss of income, loss of bookings, loss of opportunity, or any other loss arising from the suspension or termination of an account, whether or not prior notice was given.

Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies collects and processes personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at joemaxi.co.uk/privacy. By using the platform, you consent to such processing. Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

These Terms of Service and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland.

The parties irrevocably agree that the courts of Scotland shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms of Service or their subject matter or formation.

If any provision of these Terms of Service is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severed from the remaining terms, which shall continue in full force and effect.

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Colin Fairnie trading as Reliant Technologies in relation to your use of the Joe Maxi platform and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
