About Grangetown
- Dorman Long, the steelworks company based in Grangetown, supplied the steel for some of the most famous structures of the 20th century — including the Sydney Harbour Bridge (1932), the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle (1928), and the Lambeth Bridge in London (1932). The company was one of the largest steel producers in Britain and employed thousands of workers in Grangetown and the surrounding area at its peak.
